CLEARFIELD – An Irvona man accused of indecent assault waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Richard D. Gallaher faces charges of: two counts of indecent assault and two counts of harassment.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a Houtzdale woman was interviewed by the state police on May 17. She said that in March, Gallaher went to her residence and told her he would take care of her. She said at the time, he hugged her and touched her breast. She told police that on the same day she was being interviewed, Gallaher arrived at her home. She said she ran up to the bathroom. She assumed he was preoccupied and she exited the bathroom. She told police that when she did, he was waiting for her. She said he grabbed her and hugged her, then touched her breasts. She told police that she was afraid of him and did not know what else to do.
On May 22 police interviewed Gallaher at the barracks. According to the affidavit, he related that both times he had gone to her residence she hugged him and thanked him for break lining and cash. He said while he hugged her, he touched her breasts. Gallaher told police that he did not force himself on her. He also told police that he believed the first time he touched her was in March.
