HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania health and medical businesses have the opportunity to attend the largest trade exhibition in the Middle East devoted to health care early next year when the commonwealth leads a trade delegation to Dubai for Arab Health 2011.
The exhibition, held from Jan. 24-27, will give Pennsylvania companies serving all aspects of the health care industry the chance to meet buyers from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Last year, Arab Heath 2010 attracted more than 61,000 decision makers and 2,600 exhibitors from 58 countries.
“Providing opportunities for Pennsylvania companies to find new business in new global markets is a key priority for this administration,” Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Austin Burke said. “This is a cost-effective way to generate not only sales, but new jobs that pay well.”
UE LifeSciences Inc., a Philadelphia company that designed the world’s first breast cancer screening camera that requires no touching or manipulation of the breasts, was one of nine Pennsylvania companies that exhibited in the commonwealth’s booth at Arab Health 2010.
Davood Tashayyod, senior director of UE LifeSciences, said Arab Health 2010 was a “huge” success and his company is “very excited” about its continuing progress in the Middle East. Since the trade show, UE LifeSciences has finalized an agreement with its first Middle East dealership in Saudi Arabia and is in negotiations with three other Middle East dealerships.
In addition to the exhibition space, participating companies in Arab Health 2011 can expect a schedule of face-to-face business appointments with pre-screened and qualified business prospects.
