RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 58-year-old Milesburg man was a victim of a fatal, one-vehicle accident Thursday night on Hannah Furnace Road in Rush Township, Centre County.
In an updated report, the Philipsburg-based State Police identified the man as David A. Fisher, 58, of Milesburg. Fisher was found deceased inside the passenger compartment of a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, which sustained “severe damage” as a result of the accident.
According to the initial report, Fisher was traveling north on the dirt roadway sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. For unknown reasons, he traveled off the dirt roadway and struck a tree.
Police indicated the tree was on an embankment and approximately 15 feet from the roadway. At the time of impact, they said Fisher’s full-size Dodge Ram truck spun counter-clockwise. His truck came to a final rest on its wheels and faced northwest.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Philipsburg Emergency Medical Services.
