CLEARFIELD — Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub of Clearfield won the 16th Annual ‘Past Your Prime’ Modified Fast-Pitch softball tournament on Sunday with a 6-0 victory over the Bedford Over-The-Hillbillies.
Lucky Prestash picked up the shutout in the winner’s bracket final that was shortened to five innings due to rain and field conditions at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park. Coach Dave Reed’s squad reached what turned out to be the championship game by beating Bob Boob’s Garage 16-6 in the quarterfinals and Potter’s Bricklayers 13-1 in the semifinals.
Other team members for Denny’s, which won it’s first outright title after sharing the title in 2008, were Randy Sones, Jack Sones, Crash Cutler, Ken Erskine, Rich Terry, Denny Bowman, Randy Hutton, Ricky Bumbarger, Terry Jordan, Fred St. Clair, Mick Kolar, Greg Hanes, and Pork Anderson.
Games 14-17 were then cancelled due to field conditions.
