Obituary Notice: Edna L. Whitesell

Edna L. Luzier Whitesell, 77 of Clearfield, died Saturday at the Clearfield Hospital.

Born March 22, 1933 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of George Henry and Ida (Baney) Dixon.  She was a homemaker.  She had attended the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher there.

She first wed Carl J. Luzier, who preceded her in death in 1962.  She later married Kenneth Whitesell on July 14, 1975. He preceded her in death in 1983. 

Mrs. Whitesell was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Leigey, Gladys Rollins, Marion Walker and Hope Dallen; a brother, Kyle Dixon; a son-in-law, Charles Luzier; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Luzier.

She is survived by four children, Dixie Luzier, of Hyde; Carl Luzier and his wife, Catherine and Rhennae Martell and her husband, Steven, both of Clearfield; and Amanda Shepler and her husband, Jack, of Glen Richey. 

Also surviving are her brother, Richard Dixon and his wife, Carroll of Clearfield, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc., of Curwensville, with the Rev. Duane Stiner officiating. 

Friends will be received from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,  P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville is in charge of the arrangements.
