Norman R. Martin, 70 of Houtzdale, passed away on March 22 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born on July 5, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Mabel (Ream) Martin.
On June 16, 1962 at the Brisbin Baptist Church Parsonage, he married Florence (Henry) Martin, who survives at home.
He is survived by children Robin Harchack and her husband Phil of Huntingdon, William Martin and his wife Helen of Newfoundland and Sara Harper and her husbad Nicky of Clearfield; siblings Geri Shedlock of Clearfield, Carol Bratton and her husband Harold of Houtzdale, Robert Martin of Clearfield, Millard Martin of Niles, OH, Kenneth Martin of Madera and Leonard Martin and his wife Carol Ann of Houtzdale; grandchildren Philip Harchack, George Harchack, Jessica Martin, Melvin Harper, Raymond Harper, Daniel Harper and Mychael Harper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Walter, Gerald and Larry Martin.
He worked in the coal strippings for 42 years for Powell Coal Co. and K&J Coal Company.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be at Brisbin Cemetery.
