CLEARFIELD – Two different bridge preservation jobs will get underway in Clearfield County on March 22. Work on both jobs will impact area traffic. All work is weather dependent.

The first job is for the cleaning and preservation of bridges on state Route 879 (Clearfield Bypass) that span U.S. Route 322. Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on U.S. Route 322 near the Clearfield Mall. Work on the SR 879 bridges is expected to last into April.

This work is part of a $1.2 million contract covering eight bridges in three counties. Amstar of Western New York is the contractor on the project.

The second job is for the preservation of eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 bridges at mile-marker 125, east of Woodland. Crews will work during daylight hours only and drivers will encounter closures of eastbound and westbound passing lanes through this area.

This work is part of a $7.6 million contract covering nine bridges in five counties. Swank Associated Companies, Inc. of New Kensington is the contractor on the project PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.
