DUBOIS – The DuBois Revitalization Group announced at Monday night’s city council meeting that Program Manager Julie Stewart would be leaving the group to start her own business.  Stewart said that she will continue to work through any transition period and stay involved in as many ways as possible.

The new business will be a coffee house located along Brady Street, between Aussie’s Steakhouse and Tainted Flesh.  Stewart noted that it’s a business that is always mentioned at focus groups and town hall meetings as being needed in downtown DuBois, so a niche is being filled.

“I kind of bought into my own cheerleading and promotion of small business.  I want to be a part of the energy and enthusiasm our downtown DuBois businesses create,” said Stewart.

Stewart said the coffee house has a name but it not ready to reveal it in case it changes between now and opening day, which will be in the next couple months.  The focus of the coffee house will be on coffee, but a light food menu will be available, so as not to compete with downtown restaurants.  Wi-fi will be available for patrons.  The business will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Stewart asked that if anyone has questions they call 814-371-3064 or e-mail her at downtowndubois@verizon.net.
