STATE COLLEGE – Two Philipsburg men who have been linked to an Aug. 20 burglary were arrested for the same and related theft charges following a search at the Motel 6 in State College, according to the Philipsburg-based State Police.

Police indicated that both men are still awaiting arraignment. In addition, they stated that two male juveniles have been arrested and placed in the Centre County Detention Center on related charges. They said other arrests are anticipated at a later date.

According to the police report, at approximately 2:20 p.m. Monday, a search warrant was served for two separate rooms at the Motel 6 on Atherton Street, State College. Police said in one room, they located two juveniles and four adults, all of Philipsburg. Police said that they were found in possession of numerous drug paraphernalia items along with small amounts of marijuana.

Police stated that the occupants were also believed to be in possession of items that were associated with the burglary. They also stated that a .357 Magnum Ruger revolver was found under the mattress in the first room. They found “several hundred dollars” of cash on several individuals.

In the second room, police stated that they located one adult female. They said several glass smoking pipes and a small amount of marijuana were found in the same. They said that they also found numerous bags of new designer clothes and shoes and new electronic items.

According to a prior GantDaily.com article, someone entered a Hemlock Street address Aug. 20 while the residents were away from home. They then reported that a large amount of cash, jewelry and electronics were removed from the residence.

Police said then it appeared that the people were familiar with the residence as well as the locations of the items. They said that some evidence was recovered from the scene and may help locate those responsible.
