SOI and Moyer\’s Win OTSL Playoff Openers

Bucky Strunk Field — Despite the tornado warnings in the area Sunday night, the OTSL was able to kick off post-season play.

The early game saw the SOI knock off Jim\’s Sports Center 7-1. The game was tied 1-1 until the 5th inning when SOI cather Jake Pollick blasted a 3-run home run.

Veteran pitcher Terry Potter picked up the victory, while Lucky Prestash was saddled with the loss.

Jimmy Collins added two hits, one a double, and scored twice to help bolster the SOI offense. Jack Rumfola\’s home run accounted for Jims\’ single run.

The night cap was all Moyer\’s Auto Body as they 10-run Mercy Ruled the Eagles 17-2 in five innings.

Moyer\’s had a 10-run 4th inning that blew the game wide open.

Moyer\’s was led offensively by third baseman Steve \”Chicken Hawk\” Dimmick, who had a grand slam. Chipping in with two hits apiece were centerfielder Todd Shaw, first baseman Mike Peterman, and left fielder Frank Hipps.

Mike Greene picked up the win, while Russell Bumbarger took the loss.

Playoff action continues Monday night at 6:30 when SOI plays Bob Boob Garage. The 8:00 nightcap will be Moyer\’s playing Buster\’s.
