CLEARFIELD – The Quad-County Amateur Radio Club Inc. will participate in the annual Field Day Contest on June 27 and 28. Field Day is an operating event to develop emergency communication skills using generators and batteries to power the radio equipment. Antennas are also put up on the site. The goal is to make as many contacts as possible with other amateur radio clubs across the country. The contest is sponsored by the Amateur Radio Relay League which has it’s headquarters in Newington, CT.

This year’s Field Day events will be at the Clearfield County 911 Center on Leonard Street in Clearfield. The contest runs from 2:00 p.m. Saturday the 27 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday the 28.

The public is invited to observe what the amateurs are doing during this time.

The Quad-County Amateur Radio Club Inc. meets each month on the third Friday at the Clearfield 911 Center at 7:30 p.m. For more information contact the club at it’s Web site or by email at qcrac@qcarc.com.
