CLEARFIELD – The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield has announced that they will be holding a Wing Fling on Saturday, June 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Clearfield Fair Grounds Expo II building. In previous years the Clearfield Jaycees have held this event seeing as many as 600 people come out to taste some of the areas best wings. This year the Chamber of Commerce hopes the event will be equally as successful after its brief hiatus and has planned an all around fun event for the whole family.

You’ll be able to taste wings from ten area restaurants and your vote for the best one will help determine the winner of the “People’s Choice” Award. There will also be fun games and contests, and plan to take part in the silent auction where you can bid on a 42” Visio TV, autographed sports items, baseball tickets and many other great items donated by our member businesses and organizations. Bob E. Day will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event and there will also be celebrity judges to determine who has the best tasting wings in the area. Radio stations, WOKW 102.9 as well as Froggy 101, will be on hand for live remote broadcasts and will offer some additional excitement with games and contests.

The restaurants participating in the event are: Arrowhead Restaurant, Aunt Mary’s Place, Buster’s, Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub, Dinger’s Grand Slam Grille & Groggery, Jax Sports Bar & Mexican Grill, and Legend’s Sports Bar, all of Clearfield, also Down River Restaurant/Express Café & Convenience of Shawville and Clearfield, Holt Daddy’s Pub of Osceola Mills, and LC Jordan’s Deli & Mini Mart of Frenchville.

Tickets are available for purchase at any of the above listed locations, as well as at the Chamber of Commerce office at 125 E. Market St. in Clearfield or by calling 765-7567. Pre-sale tickets are only $10, or at the door the day of the event for $12. Children age 6 and under are admitted for free. Wing Fling tee shirts will also be available for sale at the event for just $10.00 each.

After you’ve finished tasting all the tasty wings, be sure to stop by the Country Jamin’ The Valley also taking place at the Clearfield Fairgrounds that day for some great live music provided by some of the best local talent this area has to offer.
