DUBOIS – On Wednesday the DuBois Area School District Board of Directors approved most of the agenda as-is, including the $54,380,555 budget.

This budget represents a .33 millage increase for Clearfield County bringing the total up to 81.41 and a .73 millage decrease for Jefferson County bringing it to 27.47. Both changes were by state law and not by choice of the DuBois Area School District.

The board approved, pending Solicitor R. Edward Ferraro’s approval to accept Mauthe, Yutzey & Gabler to audit the school district this year at a fee of $23,000. Ferraro wasn’t present for the meeting.

The school board also re-appointed Lynda Barrett as board secretary. Her term will continue now till June 30, 2013 at a salary of $6,040. There is an automatic raise of 3.25 oercent a year.

Superintendent Timothy Deluccia expressed his thanks and appreciation to Daniel Hawkins, DuBois Middle School Principal, and Patricia Kocher, elementary instructor. Both of whom are leaving the school district this year.

Kocher is retiring and Hawkins is assuming the position of Superintendent for the Brockway Area School District.
