PENFIELD – The 34th annual Kids’ Fishing Derby will be held on April 26 from 9-11:30 a.m. at Parker Dam State Park.
The lake will be stocked twice prior to the tournament. Children up to and including 13 years of age may participate. Adults are permitted to assist their children, provided they have a 2009 Pennsylvania fishing license.
Bail from P.J. Bressler Bait and More will be on site to provide bait.
According to Derby Coordinator Pat Domico, many prizes will be awarded, including a Zebco rod and reel outfit donated by Wal-Mart Distribution Center. A grand prizewinner will also receive a vintage silver dollar donated by Duane Test of Curwensville and a $50 savings bond donated by First Commonwealth Bank of Clearfield. If a child catches a tagged, stocked trout during the derby they will be awarded a $25 Sheetz gift card.
Food and drinks will be available at the derby with the Curwensville Anglers Restocking Program.
