CLEARFIELD – Phase II of the Lawrence Township Sanitary Sewer project may be around the bend.

On Tuesday the Lawrence Township Supervisors heard from engineer Chris Dutrow concerning both the Phase II project and the Oshanter waterline project.

Phase II consists of Hyde, Plymptonville, Martin Street, Susquehanna Terrace, Golden Rod and Kerr Addition.

According to Dutrow the plans for Phase II are done and the permits are in. Dutrow said they are hoping to hear from Pennvest around April 20 and that they are working on easements.

Dutrow noted that a meeting will need to be held to allow residents in the affected areas to comment. The supervisors scheduled that meeting for April 23 at 7 p.m. at the Hyde Fire Hall.

Supervisor Chairman Bill Lawhead said that Phase II is estimated to cost around $4 million. The township has applied for money through Pennvest and as well as H2O grant funding.

Work on Phase II is expected to begin later this summer or early this fall.

Regarding the Oshanter waterline project, Dutrow said that preliminary plans are done and they will soon be finalized. He said the next steps are working on the easements and permit applications.
