SNYDER TOWNSHIP – A Brockway man will face terroristic threat charges that stem from a Dec. 27 altercation at an Arch Street Extension residence in Snyder Township, the DuBois State Police reported.
Joseph A. Amitrone, of Brockway, has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
According to the report, a known female and Amitrone engaged in a verbal argument during which he allegedly threatened to punch the female by swinging his fists toward her face. Police reported that he stopped “just short of striking” the female.
Police reported that Amitrone pulled a knife and threatened the female, telling her not to contact police.
Police said that he, then, retrieved a 20 gauge bolt action shotgun from a bedroom in the residence and again threatened the woman to not contact the police. Police also said that the gun was not loaded at the time, and the bolt fell onto the floor at which time the man discarded the shotgun.
The female called police, and Amitrone returned the shotgun to the bedroom before going outside. She locked him outside until the police arrived at the residence, according to the report.
Amitrone was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Beck and placed in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $10,000 straight bail.
