CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. and Clearfield County Crime Stoppers invite the public to attend Wednesday’s meeting of Crime Stoppers to be held at the Clearfield County 911 Center at 5 p.m.
Tom Semelsberger, a guest speaker, will be present at the meeting to provide a history of Crime Stoppers in Pennsylvania and to offer information to those interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch program in their area. A short video presentation will also be provided.
Clearfield County Crime Stoppers has been working to promote Neighborhood Watch programs throughout Clearfield County and Mr. Semelsberger is a great resource to offer advice and suggestions. Shaw noted that “several Neighborhood Watch groups are actively operating in the
County and there is increased interest in starting similar groups in our area”.
Shaw reported that Semelsberger is currently the vice president of Blair County Crime Solvers and a current board member for Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers. Semelsberger was an original member of Crime Solvers when the organization was first established through the Pennsylvania
State Police.
Semelsberger is originally from Clearfield County. After graduating from Clearfield High School, Semelsberger served two years in the U.S. Army. Semelsberger retired from the Pennsylvania State Police after 33 years of service.
Anyone interested in participating in Crime Stoppers or starting a Neighborhood Watch in their community is encouraged to attend the meeting.
Questions about the meeting can be directed to the Office of the District Attorney at 765-2641, extension 5990.
