CLEARFIELD – A 41-year-old Philipsburg man waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of possession of child pornography prior to his scheduled hearing date.
Court documents indicate that after a lengthy investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigaiton and U.S. Customs revealed a global child pornography enterprise. The company selling the illicit products would use another company to process credit cards.
Todd Alan Dixon’s name was one of many to come up during the investigation. State police officers set up a front and mailed Dixon a questionnaire asking him what kinds of items he was interested in. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Dixon marked “pre-teen girls.”
He was then sent a catalog from which he ordered three videos containing child pornography. When the items were delivered and Dixon signed for them, after which a search warrant was issued on his home. He told troopers that he knew the child porn was on the videos.
A search of his home revealed other tapes as well.
Dixon is free on $1,000 bail.
