WEST POINT, N.Y. — Matt Kyler of Clearfield earned a decision to help the Army wrestlers notch their biggest win of the season Wednesday night, knocking off No. 25 Columbia 21-13 in an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association match.
The freshman 141-pounder took down Sal Tirico in each period, escaped once and piled up more than two minutes of riding time for another point in an 8-3 victory. Kyler is 9-4 in dual meets and 25-7 for the season. He leads the Cadets in wins as well as bonus wins with six falls and eight major decisions.
The 10-4 Black Knights are 6-1 in the EIWA. The Lions fell to 4-2, with both losses in the league.
Army will wrestle in the Academy Championships Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Ruth Williamson, a Clearfield native, moved up one spot on the Susquehanna University women\’s basketball all-time scoring list, but the Crusaders had a Commonwealth Conference win taken away when Erin Walter\’s shot as time expired in overtime lifted visiting Elizabethtown to a 60-59 victory Tuesday night.
Williamson scored five points to boost her career total to 560 and pass Beth Noble (1983-87) for 24th place. The junior guard from Gettysburg also had three offensive rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Susquehanna is 13-7 with a 4-5 conference record. Elizabethtown is 10-8 and 3-6.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sophomore Rebecca Shiner of Clearfield finished 17th in the one-mile run and 21st in the 800-meter run for the Westminster College women\’s indoor track and field team in the Case Western Reserve Spartan Invitational Saturday.
The Titans were one of 12 teams in the meet, with 44 runners entered in the mile and 40 in the 800.
