PHILIPSBURG – On March 1, 2007, the Main Street Program will hold its fourth annual Art Auction fundraiser at the Rowland Theatre. Marlin Fine Auctions will provide the event with a wide variety of art, and local artists and businesses have donated valuable items for the event. This auction, our biggest fundraiser each year, was attended by 150 people last year and we were able to raise more than $7,000 for the program. The success can be contributed to the many hours of volunteer service. The reaction from the public was very positive and the Main Street Program hopes this year’s event will be bigger and better.

That is where the public comes in!

This year the program hopes to present a rich mix of local products and services to be offered as auction, silent auction and door prize items, and just about anything could be on the block. Past years have seen hotel room and bed and breakfast packages, wine tastings and tours, gift baskets, personal chef services, even home insulation! If your company or organization has something to offer, please let the program know. They are thrilled to have your participation.

In addition, the Main Street Program is also soliciting sponsorship of the event. Any business who would like to attach their name to one of the Moshannon Valley’s single largest fundraising events, please contact us ASAP so we can make sure that you are recognized accordingly for your incredible generosity.

The program booklet is always a great opportunity to promote a business or organization while contributing to the ongoing support of downtown Philipsburg. This year, business card ads are just $25 and come with one ticket to the auction. A quarter-page ad is $50 and includes two tickets. A $75 half-page ad comes with three tickets and a full page is just $100 and includes four tickets.

If you just want to attend the event, that’s great, too. It is always great fun and a wonderful opportunity to network with people from all over Central Pennsylvania. Tickets for this year are $10 per person or $15 per couple. Please contact our office or one of our board members or volunteers to purchase a ticket, or email us at mailto:mainst@philipsburgpa.org mailto:mainst@philipsburgpa.org mainst@philipsburgpa.org.
