DUBOIS – The DuBois City Police force will be under contract for four more years thanks to a collective bargaining agreement.
City council authorized John “Herm” Suplizio, city mayor and acting city manager, to sign the collective bargaining agreement at Monday night’s regular city council meeting.
Suplizo said that he believes it is a good contract, both for the city and for the 13-person police force.
The contract, set to expire in 2010, calls for a 2.75-percent wage increase per year of the contract. Officers will be responsible for paying for 15 percent of their health care per year, except for the final year, in which they are responsible for 20 percent.
