RIDGWAY – When shaken, a can of soda can open with “explosive-type” force, but police in Elk County said someone attempted to blow up a Pepsi machine during the weekend.
Ridgway Borough Police and the state police fire marshal were called to a machine outside the Elk County Assistance Office on Race Street in Ridgway early Sunday morning.
Police said someone placed an explosive device inside the coin return and then detonated it.
The soda machine sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage.
