LEWISBURG — Freshman 133-pounder Matthew Kyler of Clearfield posted a major decision as the Army wrestlers evened their dual meet record at 1-1 with a 36-6 victory in their Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association opener at Bucknell Tuesday night.
Kyler defeated David Marble 12-4 to balance his dual meet log at 1-1 and improve his overall record to 7-3.
The lone winner for Bucknell (2-2) was former Brockway standout Andy Rendos, who pinned John Drew in 2:11 at 165 pounds. Rendos, a four-time District 9 Class AA champion and a two time PIAA champion, is 4-0 in duals, including an upset of fifth-ranked Jason Kiessling of Maryland in his first match as a Bison. In addition, the second-seeded Rendos won four bouts in the Navy Classic title to reign as champion at 165.
Army is idle until the Nittany Lion Open at Penn State on Sunday, Dec. 3.

JOHNSTOWN — Kyle Keane of Clearfield posted his most impressive win of the season to remain undefeated as Pitt-Johnstown downed York College 39-3 in the Pennsylvania State Duals at Lock Haven University Sunday.
The redshirt freshman decisioned NCAA Division III All-American Jerry Browne 7-3 at 165 pounds in his first dual meet bout for the Mountain Cats. Browne finished 36-5 and placed fifth in the Division III nationals last season. He entered the season as the ranked second at 165.
Keane made an auspicious debut for the Mountain Cats in the Washington & Jefferson College Open on Nov. 5, winning the 165-pound title with falls against Scott Prinson of Thiel and Brock Mantella of Pitt, a default victory over Brad Steinback of West Liberty and a 3-1 decision over Cory Midlam of Duquesne.
Pitt-Johnstown, ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II, is 2-2 in duals.

LOCK HAVEN — Derek Caldwell of Curwensville has wrestled in two tournaments for Lock Haven University.
The freshman 165-pounder was 1-2 in the Fourth Annual University of Buffalo Open on Nov. 5, bowing 11-3 to second seed and eventual champ Mike Raqusa of Buffalo, edging Kevin Orlando of Edinboro 7-5 and then losing 3-2 to fourth seed Brandon Monin of Gannon.
At the East Stroudsburg Open on Saturday, Caldwell lost 5-0 to Dave Leister and 6-4 to Dave Chirchello of Lehigh.

CLARION — Stacy Ogden of Clearfield anchored the victorious \’A\’ 200-yard medley relay team and added seconds in the 50 freestyle and the 100 free as the Clarion University women\’s swimming team defeated visiting Grand Valley State 180-114 in the W.S. Tippin Natatorium Saturday.
Ogden also swam the final leg for the \’A\’ 200 free relay team that was an exhibition entry and would have won the race.
Kaymee Kelly of Clearfield placed fifth in the 100 backstroke for the Golden Eagles, who have a 5-2 record in dual meets.
