CLEARFIELD – Three Johnsonburg residents waived their right to hearings on charges that they broke into a Clearfield Borough home last week.
Shawn Redmond, 20, Daniel A. Aiello, 21, and Megan Kline, 19, appeared before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins Wednesday to answer for charges that they used a crowbar to break into a vacant house in the 1200 block of Daisy Street, making off with copper wire.
Clearfield Borough Police received a call from a neighbor at about 11:24 p.m. Nov. 16 for a report that two males and a female were attempting to enter the front door of the house. The trio was able to get into the structure.
Police arrived on scene and the three people exited through a rear sliding glass door. Officers attempted to stop the three, but they continued to flee.
Police officers were finally able to subdue them, and they were found to have a wire cutter, a pipe cutter and a flashlight in their possession.
Redmond, Aiello and Kline were taken to the borough police station and interviewed. All three admitted to forcing their way into the home, cutting copper and taking it.
A search warrant was issued for a vehicle, and inside police found copper pipe, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.
Lawrence Township Police said last week that the trio involved in this Clearfield Borough burglary could have ties to similar incidents in the township, although no charges have been filed to date.
Redmond, Aiello and Kline remain in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of bail.
