Gant Daily Athlete of the Week for 11/13 – 11/19

The Gant Daily Athletes of the week for November 13 through November 20 are Curwensville Seniors Shawn Sopic and Nick Sipes.

The two 4-year starters led the Tide past Redbank Valley in the D9 A semi-finals, 32-7.

Down 7-6 at the half, Sipes scored on an 80 yard run to start the second half and the rout was on. Sipes finished with 167 yards, 2 touchdowns and a fumble recovery.

Sopic ran 10 times for 146 yards, including a 95 yard quarterback sneak. Sopic scored two touchdowns and added an interception on defense.

The honorable mention for the week goes to the Clearfield duo of Adam Jury and Isiah Morgan.

Despite the 37-30 2OT loss to Bradford in the D9 AAA final, Jury scored three touchdowns and Morgan ran for 163 yards.
