LEWISTON, ID — Andrew Kirsch of Clearfield was the designated hitter
for Seton Hill College of Greensburg in the Grfiffins\’ 14-9 loss to
third-ranked Auburn-Montomery in an elimination game at the 50th Annual
Avista NAIA World Series Saturday.
Kirsch, a sophomore, was hitless in two trips to the plate.
He did not play in Seton Hill\’s tough 5-4 loss to seventh-ranked Concordia (CA) University in the first round Friday.
Seton Hill, which finished only its third season of baseball at
49-20, was the American Mideast Conference and Region IX champion and
was ranked No. 14 in the country after winning the East Coast Super
Regional to qualify for the nationals.
